Restore BMW® Active Cruise Control With Radar Sensor Start-up

Active Cruise Control (ACC) relies on accurate radar information to monitor traffic and maintain a selected following distance. With newly added Radar Sensor: Static Start-Up coverage for supported BMW vehicles, technicians can now perform an important post-repair procedure that helps restore ACC operation following radar replacement and front-end repairs.

Why is Active Cruise Control Coverage important?

Repair It. Recalibrate It. Return It with Confidence.  

Replacing an ACC sensor or repairing front-end damage is only part of the job. On supported BMW® vehicles, Active Cruise Control may require a Radar Sensor Start-Up procedure before the system can be returned to service. 

With the latest software coverage, technicians can now perform the BMW Radar Sensor: Static Start-Up special function directly from their Snap-on® diagnostic platform. 

By bringing this procedure in-house, workshops can complete more ACC-related repairs from start to finish without relying on third-party calibration providers. This helps reduce repair delays, return vehicles to customers sooner and supports complete restoration of the Active Cruise Control system following repair. 

As part of the post-repair workflow, Radar Sensor Start-Up helps ensure the ACC sensor can continue providing accurate information to the wider Active Cruise Control system, supporting proper operation of radar-based driver assistance functions.
